The deadline for abstracts for posters is extended to September 3, 2014.

We are no longer accepting abstracts for oral presentations.

If you wish to be considered for the TerraGenome Early Career award, submit your abstract no later than August 1, 2014 whether it is for a poster or a talk. See the Travel page for more information.

Submit your abstract via email with the subject “2014 Soil Metagenomics Abstract” to Sarah O’Brien at sobrien@anl.gov. All abstracts should be sent as Microsoft Word documents (no PDFs please (really, no PDFs!)).

Abstract guidelines

Required — indicate if you prefer an oral or poster format
Abstracts should be <300 words, not including title, authors, and their affiliations.
Include the names of all authors and their affiliations in the following format:

Firstname LastnameOne1, Firstname LastnameTwo2, Firstname LastnameThree1,3

1Institutional affiliation one; 2Institutional affiliation two; 3Institutional affiliation three

Oral presentations

The schedule will accommodate a limited number of contributed talks. Talks are tentatively planned to be 15 min plus 5 min for questions.


Posters will be displayed for the duration of the workshop, with dedicated sessions to provide time for in-depth discussion. The display boards will be 4 ft x 8 ft with pushpins to hang posters.
