As part of building the GSC Community all GSC projects have now created uniform descriptions of their activities. There is an open call for existing and new projects to join the GSC. Details to be posted soon.
We are currently working to relaunch the GSC website – combining the best features of the current wiki with structured introductory pages that include an overview of all GSC Projects and their descriptions.
The GSC 15 meeting was held at the National Institute of Health (NIH), Bethesda, MD, USA, April 22-24, 2013 (Agenda GSC15) with satellite meetings on April 24, 25, 26 including the GOs2 Meeting at the Smithsonian (Agenda GOs).
GSC 14 was held in Oxford, UK, September 17-19, 2012, followed by satellite meetings and a hackathon September 19-21. This meeting served to launch the Genomic Observatories Network.

The SIGS journal continues to grow and is now a leading journal for the publication of ‘genome notes’ (using the GSC’s MIxS standard). Please consider contributing your next articles to this Open Access journal.
An open-access article describing the GSC’s MIxS standard has been published in Nature Biotechnology – it includes the MIMARKS checklist and the set of environmental packages applicable to all GSC checklists and beyond.
